>Surely you can't be serious.
I am. What's the monster hiding your bed?
(We'll ignore the fact that is the Ruskies who own GOG, EPIC is the Chinks, and deal with the underlying arguments)
When people say "oh no the Chinese" it's usually a bullshit argument. E.g:
"They Chinese government will spy on you" - So what. 1, I'm not a person of interest. 2, my country doesn't have an extradition treaty with China. 3, It's not like the American Gov./Steam aren't doing the exact same thing.
"They're taking devs/games away from Steam" - Again, so what, competition is good for the consumer, it drives down prices. It's also good for the content producers/devs given the ludicrous cut Steam takes from them. And again drives down prices on their end. That's more money for the devs at less cost to you.
"All my friends are on steam!" - It's a good thing you can cross-link them, takes about a minute. If you can't, adding an individual friend takes about the same amount of time.
"All my games are on steam!" - Are you really too lazy to use a second launcher? If you're that lazy, chances are you're also sock-pooping and have bigger issues.
